Crazy Busy

So here’s a quick post to catch up on the highlights of my frantically busy past couple of weeks. A HUUUGE and deeply appreciative “Thank You” to all the awesome folks coming out to get tattooed by me lately. You are all seriously the best and without you guys my life would suck for a number of reasons.

So first off it was Friday the 13th the other day and I did exactly ONE 13 tattoo, It was on my close friend James. Just a lil fun one before he headed down to FL for a while

My best friend Mike was also in town recently from L.A. while he was in town he and our buddy Steve came by and got some small tattoos. Here’s the one I put on Steve:

Speaking of old friends, my old and dear friend Debbie whom I’ve known for coming up on 15 years now came in and got this bird and garden rose from me yesterday. unfortunately I had a horrible time getting a decent picture of it, the angle and the wrap around her leg just make it look weird. You’ll just have to take my word that it’s a cool tattoo.

Thomas S. is an animal. he came to visit me right after getting tattooed for hours by Grez and was all like “hey, you got a minute to fill this tiny spot on my hand?” Of course I do Tom.

Matt who has the indian chief and cowgirl from me came by and had me stick this little Jerry ship in the background of his increasingly tropical and eclectically nautical sleeve.

It was Chris’ birthday so I put this motorcycle helmet on his arm he’s been threatening to get for a month…
and then…

…we decided his old bull tattoo could use a new pair of sunglasses.

Speaking of funny, these two are tied for funnest craziest tattoos of the month. First there’s the good ol NCC-1701

and today’s big winner ….

PHEW! that’s a lot of effin’ tatts. Thanks as always for looking and I leave you with this little gem. An original Sailor Jerry acetate stencil I purchased at the NYC convention this weekend. It throws some pretty serious good vibes around in my studio!!

True Blue Tattoo

Hey just a quick post to let folks know that I am now working Tuesdays at the notoriously busy True Blue Tattoo in Queens! Exciting stuff! So far it’s been great, and I’m really honored and stoked to join the incredibly badass crew over there even if it’s only one day a week. Streetshops Über Alles!

You can still find me and JCTC Sundays and Mondays, and Thicker Than Water, Thursdays and Fridays.

So I havent posted here in awhile and racked up quite a backlog of tattoos, I figured I’d post them today while killing some time before Nicole and I go on ou annual Montauk vacation. So here goes:

This is a ladyhead I started on my co-worker Chuck a while back I did the line work immediately after he finished the last sitting on my ribs, it was kind of like going punch for punch.

This pinup is based off an old acetate stencil. It is on my friend and client Benjamin. He only gets black and grey tattoos.

This Chief from my Native American flash sheet is on Matt who also has a cowgirl from me, and some lovely tattoos from my friend Bailey Robinson.

This horse/shoe combo is from the same sheet and is on Amanda who has what is probably the cutest puppy I have ever seen.

Lastly this cobra I did yesterday on my client PJ mentioned in my previous post. PJ has a TON of work from me and seems to be intent on getting much more, and for that I thank him.

And thank you as well for looking. Now, off to the beach!

More eye

Had a visit with my loyal customer PJ yesterday who wanted to fill an odd blank space he had above his elbow amidst a bunch of older b&g stuff he has on his arms. He wanted an eye in color so I tucked this in behind his existing stuff. The “all seeing eye” is simultaneously my least and most favorite design to do. It’s cool BUT it’s also been driven into the ground really hard, which challenges me to try and make each one that I do stand out in some kind of interesting way. Hope I succeeded!

I had the pleasure of tattooing this mongoose on my friend Zane today. Zane’s brother Dan is a great friend of mine who wears a lot of tattoos from me, and over the years I’ve come to tattoo his entire family. In-laws included! In fact, I tattooed his Mom just last week! (for like, the 5th time!) Wonderful people every one. This was a great time, first mongoose I’ve ever tattooed. Thanks for looking.

Did this eyeless gypsy girl tattoo on lovely new client Kayla yesterday. She was an absolute pleasure to tattoo and let me have a lot of fun with the design and color, Thanks Kayla! It was kind of funny doing this tattoo because it was very similar in subject matter to a tattoo I did 4 years ago when I very first started tattooing, feels like a million years ago. This one is a lot more intricate to say the least!

Dirty knees

I made this painting tonight for a paint trade I’m doing with my friend Christian Colbey Joyce down in Florida. He told me to just go buck wild and do whatever, so I took the opportunity to attempt my first in-earnest Japanese subject-matter painting. I chose a Hannya mask because it seemed like something easy to start with. I decided to use Japanese maple leaves in lieu of cherry blossoms, just because. I think it came out pretty good. For a first try anyway. I hope he likes it. Thanks for looking!
